Pack PhotoBased on Carl Jung's principle of synchronicity, the Mirror Cards pack, written by myself and Lucy Lidell is a very simple and empowering way of working with all relationship issues. The pack takes over where self-help books leave off by helping you tune into your own inner knowledge, and supporting you day-to-day in making permanent changes. The text is written in an easy-to-absorb style and will help you to identify your strengths and weaknesses and how to work with them.

The feedback since the pack was first published in 2003 has been overwhelmingly positive and we constantly hear of readers' surprise at the pack's accuracy and pleasure at the support they are offered. MORE...

WHO IS THE PACK FOR?

The pack is for anyone, whether in or out of an intimate relationship. It can be used to investigate the dynamics of present or past partnerships and, although the text is directed toward your primary relationship it can equally provide insight to relationships with friends, family members, and animals.

WHAT'S IN THE PACK?

The pack contains a 176 page book and 32 illustrated cards. The book includes some real examples of people's experiences with the pack.

The cards identify relationship issues and their 'distorted' aspects. For instance, while 'Acceptance' is an attribute we would all benefit from in relationships, the distortion of 'Acceptance' is to be a victim or martyr, allowing others to walk over us – an 'attribute' we could clearly benefit from shedding!

The 32 card subjects are:-

ACCEPTANCE, ACTION, ALONENESS, ANGER, APPRECIATION, BOUNDARIES, CHANGE, CHOICE, COMMUNIATION, EMPATHY, EXPRESSION, FREEDOM, FRIENDSHIP, HONESTY, HUMOUR, INDEPENDENCE, INITIATING, INTEGRITY, JOY, LETTING GO, NURTURE, OBJECTIVITY, REALITY, RESPONSIBILITY, SADNESS, SELF-WORTH, SEXUALITY, SPONTANEITY, TRUST, VULNERABILITY, WILL, THE MIRROR.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

In practical terms, the pack couldn't be simpler to use. Focus on a question that is about you; choose a card; then read the relevant text from the book. If the card is chosen as 'inverse' i.e. upside down, then you are dealing with the distortion of the subject and need to read the 'Inverse' text.

Healthy sceptics will raise the question 'How can the card I choose possibly be the right card to deal with the problem?' In much the same way as the I-Ching has been used for thousands of years, the Mirror Cards work with your own, intuitive knowing that is beyond the rational mind.

Each of us creates our own reality...

If you asked a question, then read through all the texts, you may find an answer, but it will probably be an answer you want, rather than a reality. (Physically searching)

If you asked a question, then sought inwardly and honestly for half an hour without the help of the pack, you may find an answer. (Psychically searching)

However, bring the two together and you create what Carl Jung defines as 'synchronicity'.

In this case, the synchronicity is the coming together of both physical and psychic (energetic) intention, producing a physical and psychic result – the appropriate card. What weakens or strengthens the result is 'attitude' – the degree to which sincerity and personal responsibility are being adopted.

If you find the concept hard to understand, think about how you 'mysteriously' repeat situations (particularly in regard to relationships) in your life, simply because you continue to hold the same beliefs and put yourself in the the same physical situations.

BACKGROUND TO THE PACK

We originally set out to write a book that would look at the psychological and spiritual dynamics at work in relationships and focus on the need for personal responsibility.

A drawback of a book is that no matter how inspiring and useful it may seem at the time, once it is read and is returned to the shelf the energy of it wanes and can soon be lost.

The answer was to introduce some way for the reader to work with his or her own issues as they were happening.

The reading of 'signs' has been part of every world culture for thousands of years, some of the best known being runes and the I-Ching.

Nowadays those who use such methods in the West are often perceived with cynicism. But in the same way that astrology has two 'arms' – one supplying bland generalisations to the tabloid press, the other capable of providing unerring accuracy as to psychological and spiritual life challenges – the reading of signs offers deep insight when approached with a serious and open mind.
